Michael Doyle has reminded his Coventry City team-mates about the way to live their lives this week to ensure they are totally focused on getting the club promoted.

The Sky Blues skipper insists the players have to make sacrifices away from Ryton to maintain the utmost professionalism off the pitch for the remaining six League Two games and beyond if City make the play-offs.

Asked about his role as captain this week, getting round the players at the training ground in the wake of Monday’s 6-2 humiliation at the hands of Yeovil Town, he said: “I think its one of them, you know, where obviously we’re going to have to speak about things.

“I just think it’s important now that we are close to the summer that as players everyone is living their lives properly and doing the right things away from when they are not here.

Michael Doyle has demanded his team-mates make sacrifices off the pitch

“That’s certainly one of the things you need to do as a group because if you’re serious about getting promoted you have to sacrifice things.

“We’ve got two and a half, maybe three months off in the summer as a holiday and you can do what you want, but it’s important now in these last six games that everyone is fully focused and doing everything possible get in the team and get promoted.

“We have got to make sure everyone is doing the right things and obviously give a big response at Notts County on Saturday.

“There’s no tougher place to go in this division but I think we showed when we went to Mansfield and Wycombe that we are capable but it’s just what way we are going to turn up.
“But like I say, we have got to respond.”
