Michael Doyle is hoping that a deal can be struck between Coventry City and Leeds United to keep him at Elland Road on a permanent basis.

Doyle still has a year left on City contract, was allowed to go on a season long loan to Leeds by City boss Chris Coleman keen to bring in his own players, told the CT: "I have got another year on my contract left.

"It's going really well up here. The fans have been brilliant and every game is like a cup final because everyone wants to beat you.

"But it has been great and I am really enjoying it and hopefully something can be done in the summer. I had a chat with Chris Coleman last season and he was great with me.

"He told me he wanted to freshen things up and it was hard for me to leave because Coventry have been a great club and it is where I call home in a way and I am sure I will settle back into the area eventually.

"I have no bitterness towards the club or anyone there and if I end up going back next season, I will get my head down and work hard to play.

"I will never say a bad word about the club and I am more than willing to go back if that's what the manager wants. But I am enjoying my time at Leeds.

"We have been flying high all season and it's the best period of my career because we have been winning every week. I have been playing well but I think I still have more to give.

"If Leeds want me, I am hoping Coventry won't ask too much money for me because I would like to kick-start my career here. We want to go up as Champions - we have got games in hand on Norwich and Charlton and it is ours to lose."
