Coventry City manager Iain Dowie is keeping quiet about any possible players that he wants to bring in now that the transfer embargo has been lifted.

Following the takeover by Ray Ranson and the SISU Equity Fund, some monies have been made available to bring in players on loan, with more funding planned for the summer.

Dowie who needs a goalkeeper with Andy Marshall being out injured for a month, said to the CT: "I don't want to talk about other team's players until deals are done. "When we do business we will do it quietly and effectively and get the right bodies over the line at the right time.

"We are very, very hopeful of getting a keeper in over the next day or so. "If we make any signings they have got to be for the future of the club. There are one or two that we would like to bring in but probably won't be available until the summer. But we would like to strengthen in one or two key areas."

A number of players are out of contract at the end of this season but one player who may get a deal is Stephen Hughes, who said to the CT: "My contract us up this summer but before I got injured I spoke to the manager and he said he wants to keep me next year. "It was a brief conversation and no-one has spoken officially yet, but fingers crossed I can get that sorted sooner rather than later.

"But it is nice to hear. The manager has been great and I enjoy being with all the lads and long may that continue from my point of view.
