Former Coventry City manager Iain Dowie has admitted that he is interested in the position of manager of Northern Ireland.

Nigel Worthington is stepping down after tonight's game with Italy and Dowie has told Sky Sports that he would speak to the IFA if they approached him about the job.

"The proudest moment of my playing career was captaining my country," Dowie told Sky Sports News.

"I had a fantastic relationship with the green and white army, they were amazing and I am always happy to help.

"I feel my CV stands up to scrutiny and if the Northern Ireland Football Association feel they want to have a conversation with me I would be happy to do that. "If I can help in any way I can, I would."
