Dowie On Defeat

Iain Dowie has been speaking after City's 1-0 home defeat by Sheffield United. The City boss said to the club website: "We had some good chances and started the second-half really well, but we gave them once chance and they scored from it.

"I spoke to (Sheff Utd Assistant Manager) Brian Kidd afterwards and he said they couldn't get hold of the ball for the opening 25 minutes in the second-half. "Their 'keeper was certainly busier than ours and it's a good chance that Dele Adebola misses in the first-half.

"If he slides it across Doyler can tap it in so maybe he didn't make the right decision. I think our final selection of passes at times hasn't been what it should be.

"But it certainly wasn't a negative defeat. I thought we passed the ball well but if we are struggling to score we have to able to keep clean-sheets and we are not doing that at the moment. "We've hit a bit of a sticky patch so we have got to get back on track.
