Former Coventry City manager Iain Dowie has been linked with the vacant manager's job at Reading according to media reports.
Dowie, whose last managerial appointment was with Alan Shearer at Newcastle United, is being reported as being top of Reading's wanted list to replace Brendan Rogers.
Meanwhile, another former City manager Peter Reid has been given the all clear to return to Bolton Wanderers as manager. The former manager of the Thailand national side, whose appointment at Coventry City proved to be a mistake by then Chairman Mike McGinnity is currently a coach at Stoke City.
