Iain Dowie has according to the CT,lined up a Premiership player on a season long loan for next season.

The City boss refused to be drawn on the player but said: "To be fair we are progressing fairly well on a lot of fronts and one of the things I wanted to do is already done. "I can't say too much yet but it is agreed and done - a season long loan for next year which I am delighted about.

"So we are actively working on bringing in new players and my brother Bob is now out there looking at players rather than doing match reports on the opposition, which he was doing before. "That's what we are very much starting to focus on and making sure we do our homework.

"We are very clear of the areas we need to strengthen and we have got a lot of targets which have come from a long list and now become a lot more pointed. "So the senior management team are starting to focus on that."

Names already doing the rumours round include Arsenal's Theo Walcott.
Meanwhile,City have been linked with a move for Blackpool's Wes Hoolahan. Banging in goals for fun for The Seasiders, the Irishman is on loan from Livingston. Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday are according to the Scottish Daily Record also tracking the former Shelbourne player.
