Dowie Booted Out

Coventry City have announced that Iain Dowie has left the club with immediate effect.

The Sky Blues have slumped to 19th in the table and were appalling during Saturday's defeat at Preston North End.

Dowie, the most expensive manager in the club's history,
was appointed less than a year ago but this morning, his involvement with Coventry City ended.

The former Crystal Palace and Charlton boss brought with him a large entourage and City supporting Tim Flowers have also left the club along with "scout" or whatever he did Bob Dowie.

Frankie Bunn and John Harbin have been put in charge for the game against Cardiff tomorrow.

As for a replacement, Sam Allardyce is favourite with new Chairman Ray Ranson expected to splash the cash to try and get some return on his investment.

The outside bet is Richard Money, who has attended a lot of City Reserve games and a number of first team games this season.
Graeme Souness has been linked with coming into the club, possibly as a director of football but certainly as an investor.

Covsupport wish Iain and Tim well.
