Former Coventry City youngster Craig Reid has been voted the Conference South Player of The Year and won the Golden Boot by the Non-League Paper.

Reid, has been a revelation at Newport County managed by former Sky Blue Dean Holdsworth and has scored more than twenty goals a season in the last two seasons for The Exiles who cruised to the Conference South title.

He started off at Ipswich before moving to the Sky Blues where he played for the successful City U18's and City Reserves sides. He was also the Sky Blue Trust Young Player Of The Year winner before Micky Adams released him.

The 24 year old did not get his Football League debut under Micky Adams and instead it was John Ward at Cheltenham Town, who gave him a chance.

After leaving Cheltenham after making 14 appearances, he joined Grays Athletic before joining Newport initially on loan, where he has been for the last two seasons.
