Don't Panic Freddie

Coventry City striker Freddie Eastwood has changed his home routine and his boots in a bid to find goals for the Sky Blues.

The striker hit a barren patch and was left out of the team which started against Birmingham City on Monday.

Of the striker who scored for City Reserves on Tuesday, City boss Chris Coleman said to the CT: "Freddy has had a bit of a down period and one or two iffy games

"His confidence has been affected because where strikers are concerned, it doesn't matter how well they are playing, they need to be scoring goals.

"I have said all along what a good player he is and he's only going to get better and he will come again, sooner rather than later I would imagine.

"When I told Freddy I was taking him out of the team against Birmingham he was scratching his head, not because of my decision to leave him out but because he said he had tried everything.

"He has changed his routine at home, changed his boots and sometimes that's the very thing they shouldn't be doing.

"They just have to calm down and do what they normally do and keep believing in themselves because they are good players.

"But strikers are different characters to other players and no matter what they do, if they are not scoring they are hard on themselves.

"We gave Clinton a rest because although he was playing well he wasn't scoring and was being really hard on himself, so we have given Freddy a rest and there is no reason why we can't get the same response from him.

"You can try too hard, but Clinton is more relaxed and now he is hitting the back of the net, and hopefully Freddy will follow."
