Don't Drop Me - Shearer

Scott Shearer is hoping not to be dropped after the 3-0 defeat at Leeds. The Scottish keeper refused to take any blame for two of the goals. One Leeds website even blamed him for all three, but admitted: The third goal was a mistake on my part and that is something I will work on. It took a slight deflection which took the pace off the ball but it is an error on my part. But I feel confident I can stay number one so I just need to make sure of that.

"As for the other goals, the first came about because no one marked the lad, but that is easy to sort out and the second one saw me make a save and unluckily for us it fell to Julian Joachim.

"So I am gutted with the result. As the manager said, we will play plenty of games like that where we play really good football but just don't get the end result. It didn't go our way but we have got three home games now and we will make sure it goes our way in those.

"There are a lot of positives to take from the game but at the end of the day you need points."
If Reid does decide to drop the keeper whose formed dipped last season after a number of howlers and the abuse they generated, Luke Steele is likely to fill the role rather than Andy Marriott who has been in fine form for City Reserves.
