Ditch The 4-5-1 Says Poll

Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has to ditch his 4-5-1 formation according to the results of a poll on this website.

An overwhelming 80.7% of those who responded felt that the tactic was not playing to the strengths of the available players, dull to watch especially at home, likely to affect home attendances and putting the players under more pressure when attacks broke down, judging by some of the emails we have received on the subject.

Under Iain Dowie, City played 4-4-2 but Chris Coleman brought in the tactic when he came to the club in February.

Relying on Leon Best as the target man, City ended up as the side caught offside the most times in the entire Championship and being saved from relegation by the width of a post at Stoke City.

Coleman had been urged in a number of games by the City support to change the tactic but resisted and steadfastly defended his tactic.
