Coventry City striker Shaun Jeffers has said that he was disappointed that the Sky Blues were knocked out of the Carling Cup by Huddersfield Town but happy that he got his home debut.

Speaking to Sky Blue Player, the Bedford born striker, who won the Jackson Grundy Cup for City in pre-season with the winning goal at Northampton said: "It was disappointing not to get the result but it was great to get the experience, especially with a few more lads from the academy in the side as well.

"We've not gone through but I thought we definitely gave Hartlepool a good game and they will know tomorrow that they played 120 minutes."

The striker who hit eighteen goals for City U18's last season said about his debut:
"I've waited for this moment for such a long time and obviously it says just as much for the club's academy as it does for me. "I just hope I can get more first team apperances over the season and maybe bag a few goals."
