Former Coventry City striker and occasional centre half Dion Dublin has agreed to play in the charity football match at the Ricoh Arena in May to raise money for UK military charity Help for Heroes.

The event, named Football for Heroes, will see a British Defence Medical Services team take on a recently retired legends' XI in Coventry on Sunday, 4th May, with Dublin joining fellow Midlands icons Ugo Ehiogu, Darren Huckerby and Lee Carsley in signing for the legends’ squad.

Alongside the 90-minute spectacle, supporters will be able to socialise in a specially created family fan zone, before and after the game, which will see a number of Armed Forces-led activities taking place.

There will also be performances on the day from the Military Wives choir and military bands, and, following the match, a dinner and auction will be held at the stadium to celebrate the inaugural event.

Tickets for the match can be purchased in advance for just £10 for adults and £5 for under-16s, with further discounts available for family and student tickets. Anyone wishing to secure a seat can visit www.footballforheroes.co.uk.
