Dimi Stars In Cup Shock

Dimi Konstantoplous had a superb game as Swansea City won 2-0 at FA Cup holders Portsmouth.



The Greek keeper who comes back to the Sky Blues from loan this week, made a string of save to deny the likes of Jermaine Pennant and co.

Swansea's win was the only real cup shock. Burnley drew 2-2 at West Brom with Coventrian Graham Alexander on target and Doncaster who included former Sky Blue Matty Mills drew 0-0 with Aston Villa.

In the all Championship games, Sheffield United beat Charlton 2-1 and Watford beat Palace 4-3.

Ipswich, Crystal Palace and Wolves also went out of the competition.

In the Championship, Blackpool beat Birmingham City 2-0. Claus Jorgensen was sent off for taking out Lee Bowyer whilst Leicester increased their lead at the top of League One with a 4-2 win over Huddersfield.

City old boys on the scoresheet were Liam Davis scored for Northampton in a 5-1 win over Crewe with Lee Hughes scoring his 15th of the season for Oldham against Stockport.

Andy Morrell scored for Bury against Aldershot whilst Anthony Barry scored for Chester at Lincoln and Paul Furlong fired home for Barnet at Accrington.

Craig Reid scored for Dean Holdsworth's Newport County against Basingstoke Town in a 3-0 win in front of 841.

Andy Gooding scored for Hinckley United in a 1-1 draw at Burscough.

Locally, Rugby Town won 4-0 at Halesowen with goal machine David Klodiniski scoring twice.

Runaway Midland Division leaders Leamington won 2-1 at Stourport Swifts. Mark Owen had the Swifts ahead in the 49th minute, only for former City youngster Jamie Lenton to equalise in the 59th minute. Two minutes later, Micky Bellingham hit the winner for The Brakes with his 21st goal of the season.

Bedworth United won 3-1 at Barton Rovers with Twigger,Connelly and Lamb on the scoresheet.

Racing Club Warwick's home game with Boldmere was postponed.

In the Midland Combination, Tom Muldoon scored for Coventry Copsewood in a 3-1 home defeat by Brocton. Nuneaton Griff lost 1-0 at home to Knowle and Massey Ferguson were beaten 2-1 at Pilkington. Second place Southam United won 3-0 at Bartley Green.

Coventry Amateurs lost 1-0 at Coton Green Reserves whilst Coventry Sphinx Reserves lost 5-1 at Coleshill Town.
