Derry: Coventry Are Still A Big Club

Cambridge United manager Shaun Derry is expecting a tough afternoon when the U's face Coventry City at the Cambs Glass Stadium in an FA Cup Second Round tie.

“For me, Coventry City is Coventry City and still a really big football club who have got some good players,” said Derry to Cambridge News. “They play at the level above us so we’ll have a real tough afternoon.

“I know the recent results haven’t perhaps gone the way Coventry would have liked them to go, but we’re under no illusions they want to get through to round three as well.

“They’ll want that added financial package as well as a football club, at board level, and we want that, but we also want to pit our wits against the best players in round three.

“To get through this would be a great achievement. We want to get through the round, play well, enjoy the occasion and for everybody to turn up and back us.”
