Nathan Delfounseo has said that Coventry City do not wanting to be slipping down the table.

The loanee from Aston Villa told Alan Poole of the Coventry Telegraph: “We don’t want to be slipping down the table. “We’ve been playing better than the results show but that’s not good enough, especially for the fans, because they want to see points on the board.

“A couple of mistakes cost us against Port Vale but we stuck in there and got the draw which is better than nothing.

“You’ve got to believe, keep playing your own game, and be persistent even when things aren’t going well because we if we do that we know that we’ll always create chances and that the results will turn round.

“Sometimes you get a good result from a poor performance but we haven’t had a lot of luck in the last few games so the fact that we’ve stuck to our principles is a credit to the spirit here which is very good.

“We were 2-0 down with ten minutes to play and we could have won it in the end so we should take a lot of confidence from that.”
