Defenders Played By Braille - Adams

Micky Adams has accused the City defence at Plymouth of not communicating and lacking leadership.

Said the City boss to the CET: "Pagey brings leadership qualities and is a mouthpiece with his talking but the back four played by Braille, I am sure they did. There were no leadership qualities from any of them so I am disappointed.

"The warning signs have been there for the last three weeks in terms of the way we defended. We didn't kid ourselves on Wednesday when there were aspects of our defending that weren't right. "We are papering over the cracks at the moment because we have got a severely depleted squad, certainly in the back four positions, so it didn't really surprise me that we conceded the goals that we did."

One of the defenders who featured in this calamity - Adie Williams will miss Saturday's home game against Burnley after picking up his fifth booking. Gary McSheffrey will miss both the Burnley game and the trip to Southampton after also being cautioned and picking up his tenth yellow card of the season.
