According to Bohmians boss Pat Fenlon, Gary Deegan who will sign a three and a half year deal with Coventry City on Monday January 4th is good enough for the English Premier League.

Speaking to Dublin base paper The Herald, Fenlon said about the midfielder who is out of contract at the Dublin based side: "As Gary was out of contract, we weren't in a great position to negotiate, but I think we have done a very good deal for the club, given the background.

"Being selfish, I didn't want to sell Gary as I would have loved to have him around for next season when we try to win our third league in a row, but it's a great chance for Gary to test himself at another level and it's beneficial to the club financially. We needed the money so the deal is a good one for us.

"If he keeps progressing, I honestly can't see him staying in the Championship for too long. He has made tremendous progress with us in the last 18 months and if he made a similar improvement again in the next 18 months, there's no limit to what he can achieve in football."
