Dean Smith has stepped down as manager of Walsall and has become the new manager of Brentford FC.
Former Coventry City midfielder Lee Carsley had been in temporary charge of the Bees since Marinus Dijkhuizen's departure, and took the West Londoners to four wins which helped him be named as the Championship Manager of the Month.
