Despite being touted by a cash starved Board to Reading and West Brom, Calum Davenport has said that he wants to remain a City player.

Speaking to the Coventry Evening Telegraph,he said: "I have got a year left on my contract so this is a big season for me. "There is no rush and I am not sure what the club are thinking, but what I hope is that we will sit down and talk about things soon and see what will happen.

"That's just off the field stuff and the important thing is for me to get fit and play football, and the rest will take care of itself. "It is nice that other teams are looking at me and great that the gaffer said I was going nowhere because that shows that I am obviously doing something right.

"At the end of the day I am happy here and my family are happy and that's all that matters to me."
