Dave Bennett - Match Day Guest

Last updated : 13 December 2018 By CCFPA

Coventry City Former Players Association committee member Dave Bennett will be our ‘special guest’ at the Sky Blues upcoming Ricoh home game against Luton Town on Saturday afternoon. The Hatters current sit in 2nd place in League One having lost only four times in the League (last time in mid October) and unbeaten in their last ten in Lague One.

The Sky Blues badly need a win after that gutting additional time defeat at Walsall last weekend. They will be hoping for a much better display given that this game is the club’s inaugural Jimmy Hill Day played in honour of our iconic former gaffer, director and chairman (and CCFPA member). Look out tomorrow for news in a separate news item about the dozen or so stars of the sixties, all CCFPA members, we expect to be sharing the day with us.

Benno in Sky Blue action

Not only a long standing CCFPA committee member, Dave has done much to support the work of various Legends’ charitable games over the years as well as other charity events. He will first be doing a pre kick-off stint with the club’s youngest supporters and their families in CCFC’s Family Zone. Then, look out for ‘Benno’ prior to the game touring the Ricoh Supporters’ Lounges before the main event of the afternoon. Additionally, no doubt, immediately after the game Dave and CCFPA’s Billy Bell will reprise a well-worn but very entertaining double act from the stage of Lady G’s in the Ricoh’s G-Casino.

As usual with our ‘special guests’ Benno will also be adding his considered analysis to the live matchday coverage of BBC CWR for fans who will not be at the game.  We will also be expecting a good turnout of our Former Player ‘Ricoh Regulars’ at the game, quite apart from the group of former JH players who will be dining pre-match in his honour.

See you there and ‘Play Up Sky Blues’!
