Coventry City defender Scott Dann has said that he is ready to return to Championship football.

"I am not far off now and probably looking to Saturday to be involved in some way," said Dann to the CT.

"I was on the bench at Torquay and would probably have played if they had needed me, but it was a bit too early really.

"You have to keep your head together when you are out for so long. When I did my shoulder at Reading I didn't think it was that serious and I thought I would be out for a couple of days.

"Then when I heard the news from the specialist a couple of days later I was devastated.

"But I had to come to terms with it and worked as hard as I could to get back as soon as I could.

"It has been nearly two months which is the longest I have ever had out, but I feel I have done well to come back so soon and I am pleased with the way it has worked out.

: "I have had no set-backs during my rehab and that's helped me be as fit as I am so early.

"I am in good shape and I am just itching to get going because I don't like going to games and watching, so it has been quite hard doing that.

"Obviously as a central defender you don't do as much running as the other players but I have been training with my injury and I am into full training now, so maybe I will need a reserve game or a match between the lads just to get a bit of my sharpness back, but I don't feel too far off."

"The surgeon did a good job and was happy with my shoulder. I rely on the physios to guide me and they have been spot on so far and I feel fine and it is just a question of getting used to full contact now.

"I went for a scan the other day and the results have come back fine so I just need to push on now."
