Coventry City defender Scott Dann was a second half substitute for England U21 in their 2-0 win against Wales last night.

Tom Huddlestone and Theo Walcott scored the goals for Stuart Pearce's side.

Leeds United are through to the League One Play-off Final. Goals in the tenth and 90th minute by Jon Howlson gave Gary McAllister's side a 2-0 win at Carlisle and a 3-2 aggregate victory.  McAllister said afterwards that he felt his side deserved it. They will meet either Doncaster or Southend who meet tonight in a second leg game.

Gordon Strachan was amongst the many paying tributes to Tommy Burns who lost his battle to cancer. The former City and player manager had given Burns a coaching job at Celtic and said: "No disrespect to football, but being Tommy's mate is the best part of coming to Celtic.

"He will be judged, not as a footballer - and there weren't many better than him - but as a person. He's top of the league when it comes to being a man."

"The most important thing I did when I came here was make Tommy assistant manager. "Through his intelligence, common sense and humour, he made me understand what Glasgow was all about. "If I didn't have him I would have gone off my head. He kept me sane at times. "He has been part of my life every day for three years. That's why I am taking it rather hard at the moment."

Former City Assistant Manager Alex Miller has been appointed the new manager of Japanese side Jef United.
