Coventry City Reserves went down to a 2-1 defeat at Chelsea's training ground in Cobham this morning.

Against a strong Chelsea side who demolished Portsmouth 5-0 at Fratton Park in an FA Premier Reserve League South game last Wednesday,a youthful City side were always under the cosh.

The Sky Blues Spanish custodian Rafa Gonzalez was in good form making two excellent saves in the 25th minute to deny John Obi Mikel.

The one real chance City created in a tight first half came a minute later and fell to Lee Hildreth who slammed the ball against the underside of the cross bar from a Reis Ashraf cross.

Chelsea boss Steve Clark made three changes at the break but four minutes after the restart, the Sky Blues took the lead when a corner was cleared and City's man of the match Lee Hildreth was able to fire a close range shot past the home keeper and into the net.

The lead lasted for ten minutes as Chelsea drew level following a 59th minute scramble with Alan Cork's son Jack on hand to fire past Gonzalez.
A minute later and Cork jnr was on target again to give his side the winner when he forced home a free kick some thirty five yards out on the left from the Chelsea's number seven.

City Reserves are at home to Notts County next week.
