Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd has said that success in the FA Cup would provide a much needed boost and he wants to see how far the team can go.

Speaking to Sky Blue Player at the club's weekly press conference, Boothroyd said: "We need to get some points on the board in the Championship, that's pretty evident.

"But we've had very good results and not so good performances but now we are getting the performances but not getting the results.

"Somewhere in the middle of that we should be able to sort it out sooner rather than later.

"But the FA cup is an exciting time for us, we managed to get through the last round, we have a local derby game and I think it is good for everybody concerned.

"We can see how good a cup run can be, we noticed that from our opponents last night. I was at the game and it was a fantastic game and for Birmingham to get to Wembley is brilliant and we want to progress as far as we can in this particular competition."
