Kevin Kyle escaped prison for his third offence in three years and was given 120 community hours after being found guilty by Stranraer Sheriff's Court. The striker based in Nuneaton was convicted of two breaches of the peace following a night out in the Scottish town.

Sheriff James Smith ordered 120 hours of community service as he thought it would be more of a punishment than a fine and said: "This isn't the first time this has happened the last time saw you get a £500 fine and now it's happened again."

Taking into consideration that Kyle's earns £410,000 a year from his contract at City, the Sheriff added: "I take the view that a fine wouldn't be more appropriate. "I will sentence you to 120 hours community service."

Kyle outside the court denied that he was some sort of bad boy despite having three convictions in three years and said that he would appeal. He added that he hoped to be in the squad for the game against QPR and would possibly be called up for the Scottish national side.
