Former Coventry City defender Martin Cranie has said that it will be good to see some some old faces as he returns with Barnsley to face his old club.

Cranie scored his first goal since 2009 for Barnsley on Saturday and told Neil Goulding of the Sheffield Star: “It will be good to see some old faces, but I want to go there [Coventry] and get three points.

“We showed a great attitude to win [on Saturday] having been behind at half-time.”

“I still speak to Jim to be honest,” revealed Cranie. “I’ve kept in touch with him since he moved to Coventry.

“It’s nice he scored [on Saturday], but hopefully he doesn’t score on Tuesday.”
