In the Championship today, second placed Derby County reduced Birmingham's lead at the top with a 1-0 win over Plymouth.

Wayne Andrews scored for Sheffield Wednesday in a 3-0 win at Barnsley. Dion Dublin was also on target for Norwich scoring the only goal against QPR.
Elsewhere, there were wins for Colcester,Hull,Stoke,Preston,Southampton and West Brom.

Locally, Caretaker boss Kevin Wilkin suffered his first defeat as manager of Nuneaton Borough when the Conference North side were beaten 3-2 at Kettering. Rugby Town also suffered defeat losing 3-0 at home to Hemel Hempstead but Bedworth United beat Rushall Olympic 1-0 at home.

None of our sides in the Midland Alliance played and in the Midland Combination Premier Division, only Alveston managed to kick off but their home game against Continental Star was abandoned at half-time with Alveston 2-1 ahead.

In Division One, Leamington Hibernian lost 2-1 at Mile Oak Rovers. Coventry Sphinx's CT Cup game at Christ The King was called off.
