Coventry City's caretaker manager Andy Thorn is busy preparing his side for the trip to Derby on Saturday in confident mood that they can Carry on where they left off last weekend.
Coventry City need points to continue their march away from the relegation zone and while City have a poor away record, Derby County have the worst home record in the Championship.
Thorn admitted his squad are buzzing on a high after their win at The Ricoh over Watford last Saturday, but he has been trying to bring then back down to earth while maintaining their confidence.
Thorn said to the CT: "The mood has been really good. The lads worked hard on Monday and Tuesday and the whole place seems to have had a lift, which is nice, but we have got a big game on Saturday and it is important we don't run away with ourselves. We have got to get back down to earth now."
"We haven't had to rein them in too much. Everyone enjoyed their weekend and it was a lovely feeling and what have you but it's back to business now and it's important that it's not a flash in the pan."
"We know it isn't but there are standards that we have set and we have to maintain them. The boys know my feelings on it and if we carry on working as hard as we are then I am sure we will get more results."
"We have told the lads that we have to go on from this and use it as a platform. The players want to do well and the training has been good again this week and we will start preparing for Derby today."
Thorn and his head coach Steve Harrison will continue to play attacking football, insisting they won't compromise their philosophy of open attacking play, even if it does leave them exposed at the back at times. Championship survival is vital, but so is keeping the fans happy and wanting them to buy season tickets for next years campaign.
"Playing the way we do, you are always going to leave yourself open a little bit, " admitted Thorn, "but that's how we are going to play and if you create chances you haven't got to be a rocket scientist to know that eventually the ball is going to end up in the back of the net."
"We are going down those lines and that's not being cavalier or kamikaze or anything like that, it is playing the right way."
