Coventry Teams In FA Youth Cup

Coventry City and Coventry Sphinx will both field youth teams in the FA Youth Cup this season.

The Sky Blues who won the FA Youth Cup in 1987 and have appeared in two finals in the late 1990's are exempt until the third round which must be played by Saturday December 15th.

Sphinx who made it to the first round proper last season where they lost to FA Premier Academy League side Nottingham Forest 2-0 are expected to enter in the Preliminary Round as they did last season.

Last season,City overcame Southend at home on penalties before being thrashed 5-1 at Reading.

A total of 442 teams will compete in this year's competition.

First Round Proper by Saturday November 10th
Second Round Proper by Saturday November 24th
Third Round Proper by Saturday December 15th
Fourth Round Proper by Saturday January 19th
Fifth Round proper by Saturday February 2nd
Sixth Round proper by Saturday February 16th
Semi Final 1st leg by Saturday March 8th
Semi Final 2nd leg by Saturday March 22nd
Final to be played over two legs dates to be confirmed.
