Coventry City have formally approached Northampton Town goalkeeper Chris Dunn.

The 24 year old Cobblers 'keeper is out of contract at Northampton and therefore theoretically available on a free transfer but, under the Bosman ruling Coventry would have to pay a development fee to Northampton , the size of which would be set by a tribunal panel.

It is understood that Coventry have submitted a written transfer offer to Dunn.

Coventry City are also likely to make an approach for a more experience goalkeeper, possibly Scunthorpe's Joe Murphy once Westwood reveals whether he is staying or leaving the club. Reports in today's newspapers suggest he has signed a four year deal with Sunderland, but nothing has been confirmed.
