Coventry Kid Scores At The Emirates

Coventry born James Collins scored for Shrewsbury Town in their League Cup against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium but it was not enough to stop them going down to a 3-1 defeat.

Collins, who was allowed to join Aston Villa as a 16 year old by City, before he moved on to Shrewsbury, scored in the 16th minute of the game which former Sky Blue Jermaine Grandison play the whole match.

In Scotland, two former Coventry City players were involved in the Aberdeen versus East Fife League Cup tie. Robert Ogleby played the whole game for bottom of the Scottish second division East Fife who led 3-2 at SPL side Aberdeen before being pulled back to a 3-3 draw.

Aberdeen, who used former Sky Blue Isaac Osbourne as a 64th minute substitute could not find a winner in extra time and were beaten on penalties with East Fife keeper Mark Ridgers saving three penalties.
