Coventry interest in Kightley

According to reports from eatsleepsport, Coventry City are taking an interest in Wolves winger Michael Kightley.

The 25 year old winger had been on the brink of signing a loan deal with Nottingham Forest last week but the deal floundered when Forest boss Steve McClaren quit his job.

Kightley wants a loan move in order to get himself match fit so he can force his way back into Mick McCarthy's side. Any loan deal would be a relatively short one, possibly until January, but Midlands rival club Birmingham City are also said to be interested in a loan deal for Kightley.

Kightley, speaking to the Express and Star, said, "In my head I think I can be back to full tilt but, realistically, I can't. I need six or seven games on the bounce to get that sharpness back because there's a difference between being fit and match-fit.

"Forest is a massive club and I'd have liked to have played some games for them, but it didn't work out and, hopefully, I can go somewhere else to play some games."

Ideally Kightley would like to stay in the West Midland area if he is loaned out.
