Coventry City Football Club have announced the team will fly to Austria in July so that Aidy Boothroyd can get to know his players, the backroom staff and any new signings.
The Sky Blues are set to fly out in the first week of July and will be based at the village of Obertraun, which is in the Salzkammergut region and near Lake Hallstatt. Coventry City will have the use of the purpose built facilities at the National Sports and Recreation Centre, which has its own training pitches.
The Sky Blues spent some time at the same location two seasons ago under Chris Coleman, where City played in a couple of pre season friendlies. Although there are no plans to play any pre season friendly matches during the team building session, it is thought that they might play an informal game against a local semi-professional team.
Boothroyd will use the facilities to put his players though some tough training sessions so he can assess the talent he has at his disposal for the coming season.
The team will be back in England to in plenty of time to prepare for their final pre season round of games which start on July 14th when they take on Nuneaton Town.
The other games arranged are at Hinckley United on Saturday the 17th, Northampton on July 21st, Walsall away on July 24th, Shrewsbury away on July 27th and the big one at The Ricoh against Premiership West Bromwich Albion Saturday, July 31st.
