Coventry City survive with 2-1 win

Coventry City ensured their League One status with a nail biting 2-1 win over Crawley.

The result condemned Crawley to relegation to League two. City went behind to a Pogba goal but came back to level through Marcus Tudgay. James Maddisson scored the winner on the 90th minute. City climbed one place in tha table to finish the season in 17th place. Crawley finished 22nd.

Joining Crawley in League Two will be Notts County, who lost 3-1 at Gillingham, Yeovil, who went down 5-1 at MK Dons, former City captain Carl Baker scored the opening goal for the Dons, and Leighton Orient, who drew 2-2 at Swindon.

MK Dons claimed second spot and automatic promotion as Preston went down 1-0 at Colchester, so finished in third place. Colchester's win secured their League One statuts with their unlikely win.

Crewe survived by the skin of their teeth in League One despite losing 1-0 at home to Bradford.

Joining Preston in the play off will be Swindon, Sheffield United and Chesterfield who played out a 1-1 draw.

Elsewhere champions Bristol City ended the season in style with an emphatic 8-2 thrashing of Walsall and Barnsley thumped Rochdale 5-0.

Port Vale slipped below Coventry and finished in 18th place losing 1-2 to Fleetwood. Doncaster hit five past Scunthorpe in their 5-2 win. Oldham and Peterborough drew 1-1.
