Coventry Charity Cup Full Of Shocks

The remaining three games in the second round of the Coventry Charity Cup sponsored by The Premier Group, produced some shocks today.

Holders Coventry Copsewood were beaten 2-1 at home by Stockingford whilst fellow Midland Combination Premier Division side Bolehall Swifts were beaten 4-2 at home by Coventry Alliance side Christ The King.

Martin Palmer gave Kings the lead in the 21st minute before Bolehall scored twice through Ben Minshull (33) and Simeon Smith (38).

With nine minutes of the match remaining, Mark Owen equalised and with the momentum, Kings piled on the pressure and Palmer scored twice with his second in the 88th minute to send Christ The King through.

Folly Lane beat Highway Coundon 2-1 after extra time. Sean Gaffney and Danny Raggitt scored the goals for Lane.
