Coventry born Ian Evatt has been offered a new deal by Chesterfield who have been relegated to League 2 alongside Coventry City, Swindon Town and Port Vale.

Evo has captained the Spirites this season and is one of four player to be offered new deals whilst Angel Martinez, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Dan Jones, Liam Graham, Curtis Morrison, Jake Beesley, Thorsten Stuckmann, Lloyd Allinson, Sadiq El Fitouri, Jay O'Shea and Charlie Raglan, have all been released by former Sky Blue and Chesterfield boss Gary Caldwell.

"It is never easy having to tell players that they will not be offered new contracts," said Caldwell.

"But it is something that has to be done as we look to rebuild over the summer and shape a squad capable of competing in League Two."
