Couple Of Interesting Viewpoints On Sisu/Council Court Case

There have been some contrasting view points have been raised about Coventry City's owners Sisu on-going court case with Coventry City Council following the Court Of Appeal's decision to grant Sisu the right to appeal the Judicial Review decision.

One comes from the letters page of this morning's Coventry Telegraph and says: "Given that only a tiny proportion of Coventry's population support Coventry City FC, then to read their owns could potentially scoop "hundreds of millions" of pounds is bound to hurt the overwelming majority of honest Coventry people who have nothing to do with, and to be honest could not give a monkey's about the football club.

"Let's not forget that a lot of fans of the football club do not pay any tax as they need to travel in from outside towns.

"So the fact is that a tiny proportion could benefit from the potential gain in compensation that could ultimately affect our schools, our welfare, our roads and our general well-being."

Another viewpoint being expressed by some is that a potential pay out of 'hundreds of millions' would give Sisu the prefect exit out of Coventry City.

If they were to win the case and be paid such a sum, Sisu, who have said that they want Coventry City to be self sufficent and run without their funding, would have a tidy profit to give back to their investors, something far in excess of what they would receive if they were to attempt to sell the club.
