Councillors Not Properly Aware Of SISU's Ricoh Bid

Coventry City Councillors were not properly aware of Sisu's attempts to sort a rent deal in December 2012, the High Court in Birmingham heard today.

On the second day of the Judicial Review between Coventry City's owners SISU and Coventry City Council, according to the Coventry Telegraph's Kerry Perry and Simon Gilbert, SISU's QC said that City councillors were not made properly aware of the attempts by SISU to sort out a rent deal and that councillors just told Sisu had behaved unreasonably.

Sisu QC also claimed that 'Arena Coventry Limited continued to string club along on rent negotiations in December 2012 after knowing debt was to be sold to council' and that 'a report by council finance officer Barry Hastie for councillors “was an advocacy piece for the decision” and didn’t do the job needed “for a rational decision” under EU law says Sisu QC.'
