Council Vote Over Wasps Ricoh Bid Will Be Private

Coventry City Council have said that any vote for Wasps being allowed to take a 90% share of the Ricoh Arena will be made in private.

The Council have said in a statement reported by Simon Gilbert of the Coventry Telegraph:  “We are committed to consider all options available to not just protect but also maximise the potential of the Ricoh Arena, but any discussions with any interested parties would remain commercially confidential until councillors needed to make a specific decision.”

It is likely any vote would take place in private with the council citing commercial confidentiality reasons – a similar procedure to when the council agreed a deal to effectively become ACL’s mortgage lenders when it approved a £14.4million loan to the stadium firm in January 2013."
