The money was loaned to ACL in order to help them secure and operate a fifty year lease on the Arena and has come from Yorkshire Bank who currently sponsor one of the Main Stand lounges.
Coventry City are in negotiations with ACL to get the rent down from £1m a season to £500,000 whilst they are in the Championship and £1.5m a season if Premiership football is attained.
