Council Defend Exclusion Zone

Coventry City Council Development Officer John McGuigan has defended plans for the exclusion zone around the Arena.

Basing his figures on that every car wishing to park nearby to the Arena would have at least three people in it, he told the CET: "On the site itself, there will be 2,000 dedicated parking spaces, in addition to park and walk sites accommodating 6,750 people on average and park and ride sites accommodating 10,600.

"It is therefore, very clear that we are not excluding City fans from parking in and near the Arena. The plans will provide "sufficient public transport and car parking facilities as well as ensuring nearby residents were protected. "

Plans for the parking zones can be seen at the Arena Library on Saturday April 23rd between noon and 5pm (when City are at Plymouth), Tuesday April 26th between noon and 6pm and Wednesday April 27th also between noon and 6pm.
