Could The Butts Be A New Home For City?

Last updated : 12 November 2015 By CNS Staff

The Coventry Observer's Les Reid has picked up on the rumours that have been doing the rounds for a couple of months, that Coventry City could be interested in transforming the Butts Park Arena in to a stadium capable of hosting both the Sky Blues and Coventry Rugby Club.

CNS Sport have been aware of rumours citing that two stands could be built on the existing site to take the capacity to around 15,000 which would suit the Sky Blues whilst they remain in League One.

However, Mr Reid has discovered that there is 'scope to extend it, potentially upwards, to accommodate more than 20,000.", still not near the numbers the Sky Blues could attract if they were successful and gain promotion back to the top flight, but a step in the right direction.

Coventry City currently have a ticket office at the Butts Park Arena, which is a short walk from town and would save many supporters from having to drive to home matches as they do now.
