Reserve team Alan Boss was very unhappy with his side after the 4-2 defeat against West Ham at Highfield Road.

The former Wimbledon striker told Derek Brown of the CET: "I was disappointed with some of the performances. With contracts up in the summer,I expected them to try harder. "We looked liked babies. They were far more physical and dominated the game. We were never at the races".

He added: "The younger players looking to make it as professionals won't do so on the performances like that. I said at half-time that the academy days when they were with Oggy are gone.

"This is the real world where you have got to earn a living and football's a great way to do that - but if you don't work hard at it and be enthusiastic then you have no chance.

"Attitude wise we were poor, whether the break has had an effect, I don't know but I was very disappointed."
