Whitnash Town are through to the Final of the Coventry Charity Cup at the Ricoh Arena after a 2-1 victory over Coventry Copsewood at Racing Club Warwick.

A misty night at Townsend Meadow saw Whitnash from the Coventry Alliance side, take the lead in the 13th minute when McInley was fouled and Craig Watkin slotted home the resulting penalty.

In what was a feisty first half with six cautions, Copsewood had a sixteenth minute effort on goal cleared off the line and Scott sliced over following a 22nd minute corner.

Whitnash won a corner and Bowden fired wide when through before a melee in the far corner saw three players cautioned.

In the 53rd minute, Copsewood were level after being awarded a penalty scored by Bowden. However, parity had only been restored for eight minutes when Whitnash were awarded the third spot kick of the match and up stepped Craig Watkin again to score.

Both sides had chances late on but it will be Whitnash Town in the final on April 23rd.
