Speaking to Reading FC's official website, Coppell said: "Chris Coleman is a good manager.
"His career was cut short by injury and I know from personal experience that gives you motivation to continue your involvement with the game.
"He's already got an awful lot of managerial experience. He knows what he's doing, he's very organised and this game will be a good test.
"He's always been decisive in what he wants to do, and that has carried into his management career. You always know where you stand with Cookie."
