Conor Thomas Out For A Week

Coventry City will be without Conor Thomas for a week.

The midfielder suffered a clash of heads in the 0-0 draw at Nuneaton Town on Saturday and was taken to hospital clearly the worse for wear.

Thomas has not returned to training and speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, City manager Tony Mowbray said: “He’s not had the all-clear yet.

“I think the minimum time is a week or so. He’s been at the training ground but he’s not been taking part at all and won’t be ready for Portsmouth on Tuesday either.

“It was a pretty severe collision, not just a mild concussion because he had one or two other issues as well so we’re just doing the right thing and making sure he takes as long as he needs really.

“I think he stayed at home with his mum after being observed in hospital for a few hours on Saturday night and he won’t be joining back in training until at least the back end of next week.

“It’s a shame because he’s been doing well. His physical stats are right up at the top in terms of distance covered and intensity and it’s a bit of a blow for him and us.”
