Concern For Wardy

Coventry City defender Elliott Ward is concerned about his place in the team.

With Ben Turner close to a return, the centre half is concerned about his place in the City starting eleven.

"The international break has come at a bad time for me because I want to keep playing games, but it is good for the other lads to have a rest", said Ward to the CT.

"I have still got to take it easy this week and do a bit of strengthening on my knee and I will speak to the physio and the manager and see what they think.

"When you get in the team and there are people waiting in the wings you want to keep them out but you never know what could happen after the break.

"Ben could be back from his injury and the gaffer will have a bit of a headache, which is good for the manager to have that because the squad is not massive.

"It is nice that he has used me but I think he has had to. It is good that he has given me the chance even though I wasn't really fully fit because I haven't played much.

"As far as the Watford game goes, all I can say is that I got through it because 90 minutes was what I needed in a first team game and we won the game.

"There were a few bits in that game that we talked about and I think we did much better against Leicester when hopefully we showed that we have worked on a few things.

"I didn't feel that fresh going into the game but I felt alert and ready, so it is strange how it works out but two games in the space of four days has been good for me and it is a bit of a shame there is a break."
