Coventry City midfielder Aron Gunnarsson hopes that he can get a new deal sorted out.

Like a number of players, the Icelander is out of contract at the Ricoh Arena at the end of the season and is looking for a new deal.

Speaking to the Press Association, Gunnarsson said: "Yeah, it is, but what can you say? These things happen and you just have to deal with it. But I`ve still got a contract until the end of the season and I`m just going to see what happens.

"There`s been talks I think but I don`t know how it`s going, it`s Ray Ranson and my agent who are speaking, like I said, I`d rather get three points than think about that at the moment."

Asked if he wants to sign a new deal when his current contract ends, Gunnarsson said: "It all depends on what is going to happen, I don`t know who is going to be the manager. I like it here, I`ve started playing well again and I`m enjoying it. Last year I didn`t really want to stay because I wasn`t enjoying it but I am again. I really hope we can sort something out.

"I haven`t spoken to any other teams, there`s been a bit of interest from other clubs but I`m not really thinking about it because I`m still on a contract here and even though you`re allowed to speak to other clubs I`m committed to Coventry until my contract is up."
